Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Rawalpindi has the authority to conduct annual and supply exams of matric and intermediate classes in the districts of Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock. Rawalpindi Board was established in 1977 and its main office is at Morgah near Attock Oil Refinery Rawalpindi. All the public and private schools and colleges in the above mentioned districts are affiliated with Rawalpindi Board while every year thousands of regular and private students participate in the SSC and HSSC exams under BISE Rawalpindi.

In all the schools and colleges affiliated with Rawalpindi Board, the admissions of matric and intermediate class starts according to a regular schedule. New classes in SSC and HSSC level starts in the months of April and September respectively. Admission process in these classes start couple of months before the start of the regular classes and completes within time.

Both model papers and past papers are important for the students in the preparation of exams. Model papers inform the students about the new paper pattern and examination syllabus of the board while past papers are used to know about the important questions which are repeated from time to time. Model papers are issued by Rawalpindi Board for the students while students can take the past papers from the market and also can download them from the site.

BISE Rawalpindi issues the date sheets of matric and intermediate classes couple of months before the start of the exams. 9th and 10th class exams are held in March and April while May and June are the months for the organization of intermediate exams. Written and practical papers are held separately while their date sheets are also issued according to their schedule. Roll number slips are posted to the students one month earlier than the start of the exams.

Rawalpindi Board declares the result of matric and intermediate class after two or three months of their respective annual exams. Soon after the announcement of the results, the board uploads the results at its official site and students can easily view their results from the site. Apart from that, the students also receive the result of their concerned exams at their addresses few days after the result.
